Our history
An education backed by years of experience and success
St. Catherine’s Nursery School was established in 1975 by Sister Nathalie, formerly from the Springs Convent of Our Lady of Mercy. It was originally a Catholic school but later became a multi-denominational school with Christian ethos.
Having served the Springs community for 53 years, St. Catherine’s has become renown for being one of the most well-equipped pre-schools in the area.
We cater for the ever-changing needs of our young students, offering those who entrust their children in our care, the highest standard of education and commitment to growth and development.

Our Principal
It is with a very full and grateful heart that I step into this new chapter as Principal of St Catherine’s Nursery School.
I have been part of the St Cath’s family for the past 25 years, teaching our wonderful 3–4 year olds, and this year brings an exciting new journey for me as I now teach the 4–5 year old class. Change is never easy, but this one has been both welcome and deeply rewarding.
I feel extremely honoured to have been nominated by our Governing Body for this position. I studied at JCE and qualified with a Higher Diploma in Pre-Primary Education, but it is the children themselves who have been my greatest teachers over the years.
Children bring me immense joy. Their innocence, spontaneity, and honesty remind me daily that there is something good in every day.
Each school day is filled with smiles, laughter, and sunshine, and before you know it, the children quietly creep into your heart and become part of your daily life.
Every child is special, unique, and truly a gift to be cherished. I feel incredibly privileged to have taught so many children within the Springs community and to have formed lasting friendships with fellow teachers and staff members along the way. St Cath’s is not just a school to me, it is a family.
What we do here goes beyond the classroom. It is about building trust with parents too because you entrust us with your most precious little ones. School should always feel like a home from home, a place where children feel safe, loved, and free to be themselves.
Thank you for welcoming me into this role and for being part of our St Cath’s journey. I look forward to sharing many more moments of growth, joy, and discovery together.

What our parents are saying
“We have very fond memories of the three years our son spent at St. Catherine’s Nursery School. He still remembers how he loved ‘baking’ on a Friday, birthday rings when celebrating someone’s birthday, playing in the playground, and the educational shows that the children absolutely loved!
Nathan was well prepared for Grade 1, and still remembers his ‘first school’ and the teachers who taught and guided him every day.
Thank you St. Catherine’s!”
“Our son Paul attended this wonderful school back in 1989.
The school gave Paul a great foundation for his future scholastic achievements. More importantly Paul is still in contact with his friends from this nursery school namely Louis and Trent. Trent was a groomsman at his wedding.
We all have very loving and fond memories of the school.
Our best wishes to all the dedicated and hard working staff of St. Catherine’s “
“Both of our children had the privilege of being part of St. Catherine’s Nursery School.
We welcomed and encouraged to become an active part of the St. Catherines family, where not only our children forged lifelong friendships but so did we, as parents.
Our children have gone on to excel both academically and on the sports fields and this can be directly attributed to the solid foundation that was laid in their formative education at St. Catherine’s.”
