The role that you play

The importance of the role that you play in your child’s academic and emotional development is a factor that we support wholeheartedly. This is exactly why we encourage our parents to be involved with the school throughout the duration of the time that your child is in our care.

St. Catherine’s Nursery School has always had a very high level of parent involvement and we believe that it is this level of involvement that has contributed to the success of our little school.

In our experience, we have seen how our children thrive when their parents and the school are in close communication and work together to achieve a common goal, that being the best interests of your child.

We will therefore always encourage parents to take an active role in their child’s life at school by viewing their child’s work, asking their child about the theme for the week and by following up with any suggestions made by their teacher.

We welcome your interest and encourage you to make an appointment to see your child’s teacher or our principal if you are at all concerned about your child’s progress and development.

General information about the school is conveyed to parents by a monthly newsletter, and by other communications from time to time.

Parent Teacher Association

Our Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is responsible for all fundraising and social activities which take place throughout the course of the year.

We have a very strong and committed PTA which consists of a group of enthusiastic parents.

They organise a number of fund raisers throughout the year, which in turn raise funds used to buy equipment, books and to complete general maintenance of the school.
